Lumpology Space Time Project:
First mixed gender crew aboard space station (1982)
In 1982 the Soviet cosmonaut Svetlana Savitskaya became the second woman in space, and the first woman to be on a space station.
In August of 1982,
Savitskaya launched on the Soyuz T-7 and spent over a week living aboard the Salyut 7 space station with a group of male cosmonauts.
The inclusion of a woman in the crew was used as an excuse to spread a lot of unfounded rumours of unprofessional behaviour on board in the press and public on Earth,
but it was also was a big leap on the path to gender equality in space.
