First ISS Module Launched(1998)

On November 20th, 1998, the first section of the ISS was launched.

It was a proton rocket called Zarya, and was built by Russia.

The rest of the modules launched were attached to this first piece.

The ISS would grow to become the largest man-made object in space.

It has had astronauts from eighteen different countries.
